Community and Fellowship

Coffee Hour
Join us for some coffee and conversation! Coffee hour is at after the 10 o’clock service (9 o’clock in the summer).

Daughters of the King
Daughters of the King meet monthly on a Sunday after the 10 o’clock service. This religious order assists with healing and prayer ministries at Christ Church. Women interested in membership should contact Pat Sullivan, the president of the order, through the church office for additional information.

Episcopal Church Women
Episcopal Church Women meet Tuesday evenings at the church. The ECW unites women of the parish in service and social ministries. Currently, the ECW prepares a monthly dinner for the Spooner House in Shelton, raises funds to support parish ministries, and organizes two card parties a year. The most important function of the ECW is to build friendships among women. Please contact Martha Smart through the parish office for more information.

Foyers Dinner Groups
Foyers Dinner Groups meet regularly through the year. This dinner club is open to all members of the parish. The various groups gather according to their own schedules, and enjoy a simple dinner and conversation. One group has chosen to meet in the church dining room. Please contact the church office if you would like to participate.

Outreach Ministries

Missions Committee
The Missions Committee is devoted to offering the generous presence of Christ to those most in need. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month at the church. Please contact Judy Fazzino through the church office for more information on the ways in which you can expand the mission of Christ.

Habitat for Humanity
We are developing a Habitat work group here at Christ Church. The group will work preparing houses in New Haven at least three times a year. No construction experience is needed! Contact James Koch through the parish office for details.

Sacramental Preparation

Baptism
We baptize at church services five times a year:
1. January (Sunday of the Epiphany)
2. Easter Vigil
3. Pentecost
4. Sunday of the Holy Cross (mid-September)
5. Sunday after All Saints Day

Preparation for Communion and Confirmation
If you or someone in your family would like to learn more about the sacramental life of the Episcopal Church, particularly about the Eucharist or the process that leads to Confirmation in the Church, please speak with the priest.

Preparation for Marriage
A couple must speak with the clergy at least 90 days before the marriage. Private instruction prior to a marriage at Christ Church is important and necessary. Please contact the church office to make an appointment.
